Early school
BJAB offers half-day and full-day enrollment in the PreKindergarten and Kindergarten classes for children from ages 2.5 to 4 and full-time enrollment in Reception class for children ages 4 to 5. Teaching through play-based activities introduce basic literacy and numeracy skills and develop the social skills to understand the world. The curriculum is taught entirely in English by qualified British teachers. Children also participate in some activities taught in French.
Lower school
BJAB follows the National Curriculum for England with adaptations for an international school. Pupils are taught three core subjects: English, mathematics and science; and seven Foundation subjects: art and design, computing, design and technology, geography, history, music and physical education. Teachers produce schemes of work each term detailing the areas of the curriculum to be covered and what topics will be used to devise interesting and inspiring activities and lessons.
Prep school
In recent years BJAB has expanded to provide education in Years 7 and 8 and the strategic growth is continuing into secondary. Each class is assigned a Form Tutor and pupils are additionally supported by a range of specialist teachers for each subject in the curriculum in support of BJAB’s pursuit of high academic standards. Students of the Prep School are expertly prepared to progress to all other international curricula, such as IB, Cambridge, and the Belgian and French systems.
