School Uniform

The school uniform is important at BJAB. It helps our children to feel part of a close and happy school community where everyone is included and equal. It also makes life easier for busy parents.

The wearing of the full uniform (including dark blue or black shoes) is compulsory for all our children from Reception upwards for reasons of health and safety, supporting positive behaviour and promoting a strong school identity.

The BJAB school uniform can be purchased online from our supplier, PMG Schoolwear.

There will be delivery to school, free of charge, at regular intervals. You can also have uniform delivered to your preferred address.

Further Uniform Guidelines

With standardisation of school wear comes the need for name tags. Please ensure that all items of clothing are clearly marked with your child’s name. The school cannot accept responsibility for lost items. The school reserves the right to advise parents regarding the presentation of their child’s uniform.

Clothes are expected to be clean and in a neat state of repair and shoes polished. Shirts should be tucked in and jumpers should not be worn around the waist. Shoes should be classic black or navy-blue leather. Patent leather, ballerinas, suede shoes and trainers are not allowed. Boots can only be worn exceptionally when snow is on the ground and, on such days, indoor shoes should be brought to school in a bag. Sportswear is to be worn to school only on PE days or school trips if indicated by the class teacher. If there are sports lessons on the school premises at other times, children should bring their school uniform to change into in a gym bag.

Boys should only wear plain dark navy-blue socks. Girls should wear plain dark navy-blue tights in winter and plain navy-blue ankle or knee-length socks in summer. Crocheted and patterned tights are not allowed.

Hats, scarves and gloves should conform to the uniform listed above. Hair should be worn neatly. If hair falls below the collar, it should be tied back with a navy-blue hair band or slide. Jewellery, pendant earrings, make up and nail varnish should not be worn to school.
